What to know if you’re attending the DWAA Awards Banquet this weekend!

We are so excited for the DWAA Awards Banquet this Sunday, Feb. 10! Thank you to those of you who are coming!

If you’re attending, here are some things to know:

There will be a registration table on the third floor of the Hotel New Yorker outside the Herald Square Room from 5-6 p.m. Please note that while the banquet is on the third floor again this year, it is in a different banquet room.

The annual meeting is open to all members and takes place in the Herald Square Room from 4-5 p.m. if you’d like to join us.

Please be sure to bring lots of business cards for our fun “speed networking” session!

The cash bar lives up to its name: no credit cards are accepted, only cash. There is an ATM in the hotel lobby.

In terms of attire, please wear whatever makes you feel comfortable in a room with your peers (and editors who might potentially hire you in the future). While most people will be in cocktail attire, some will be more formal or more casual. (Last year a dog did in fact wear a tuxedo! It’s a party, after all!)

Winners do not typically give speeches, so if you’re nervous about public speaking, remove that from your list of worries.

Most of all, just come ready to have a wonderful evening of celebrating our community! Thank you all for being part of DWAA!
