A new black puppy
She needs to care for someone
Two-legged or four
Children grown and gone
Relatives old and dying
A spouse far away
A wagging tail
Puddles and piles of “oops”
One mother’s heart glad
Once more needed
Once more nurturing another
Again a part of life.
