Watching cartoons can be pretty boring. All the words are short and I already know what they mean. So I often watch the news with my human mother. But the news can sound so scary it makes me growl. Sometimes I even hide.
I do get to learn new words, though. Here’s my list so far:
Grassroots – The part of the grass that’s closest to the dirt.
Underdog – Fleas that bite dog tummies.
Minority leader – A small dog who leads bigger dogs.
There’s a Majority leader too. I think it’s a big dog that leads little dogs.
Balanced budget – What you can balance on your nose.
Like this: Watch me balance the budget before it falls off.
Electoral college – That must be where my mother went to school.
She says the news makes her growl too.
