Each year, the Dog Writers Association of America awards over $14,000 in special sponsor monies to dog writers at our annual banquet and event. This year, the banquet is being held on Sunday, February 9, 2020, and we are sold out!

We’d like everyone to go behind the velvet ropes and get to know the sponsors. First up is Dogster magazine.

The Dogster Health & Wellness Award is new for 2020. This award recognizes the article/column that did the best to promote home-care health awareness — identifying health and wellness best practices that dog owners can carry out at home for the dogs they love. Dogster helps dogs by helping dog owners and wants to recognize an outstanding written piece that does the same. $500 cash grant.

Dogster’s Executive Editor, Melissa L. Kauffman, spoke to DWAA’s Secretary, Kristin Avery. In her own words:

Dogster and Catster magazines (formerly Dog Fancy and Cat Fancy) have wagged, purred, pawed and clawed through 50 years of publishing, covering the latest and greatest in all things dog and cat. The magazines are part of Belvior Media Group of Norwalk, Connecticut, a publisher of human and pet newsletters, magazines and websites, along with other special-interest media brands. Dogster magazine helps its dog-loving readers to help their dog(s) live his or her best life with the latest tips on care, mental and physical health, training, nutrition, exercise and the latest lifestyle trends. As a reflection of this, the Dogster Health and Wellness Award recognizes the article/column that did the best to promote home-care health awareness —  identifying health and wellness best practices that dog owners can carry out at home for the dogs they love. Dogster helps dogs by helping dog owners and wants to recognize an outstanding written piece that does the same. Dogster looks forward to celebrating its 50th year of publishing in 2020, with cutting-edge articles from top-notch dog journalists along with its annual photo contest and editors’ choice product contest. We’d love for all future and current dog and cat lovers to be join us in our journey; subscribe at dogster.com and catster.com or follow us on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter @dogster and @catstermag or @catster.
