The Dog Writers Association of America (DWAA), the most recognized professional writing association devoted to dogs, proudly announces its new leadership team.
At its annual banquet and awards event held in New York City on the eve of Westminster Kennel Club’s dog show, the following officers were inducted:
Carol Bryant, President; Maggie Marton, Vice President; Kristin Avery, Secretary; Marsha Pugh will continue in the role of Treasurer.
“I look forward to serving the current roster of DWAA members, escalating the role of the pet blogger and social media influencer, and always improving on the written and spoken word in the name of dog,” Bryant shared. “What an honor to lead this organization designed for those involved in creative endeavors that promote the interest of dogs.”
The new team is familiar names in the digital pet park that is the Internet. Bryant, Marton, and Avery all run their own successful pet blogs in addition to being published writers in pet and traditional publications. The Dog Writers Association of America strives to strengthen the careers of our members, and the new batch of officers share in that vision.
During the banquet, NBC Correspondent Jill Rappaport, host of Animal Planet’s “Dog Bowl,” and renowned radio host and pet journalist Steve Dale of Steve Dale’s Pet World, delivered rousing keynote addresses. View the program by clicking below:
