About the DWAA Writing Competition

Yes, if the script was written by you, its ok for the narration to be a “generated” voice. If the script is AI-generated but narrated by a human, that would not be permitted as an entry.

We made the shift to digital entries because almost every book, self-published or otherwise, is available in digital form. Using digital copies saves time and postage for you, the entrant, and DWAA when distributing the book to judges. IF you are unsure how to submit a digital copy of a hardcover or paperback book, you can follow these steps:

If you used something similar to KDP (Amazon’s self-publishing platform) there is a “how to” on the site to help you download your book in digital form.
If you worked with a traditional publisher, ask them for a digital copy. We have not run into a publisher that isn’t willing to help promote their products.

There are three ways to address this problem:

If you have a Dropbox account, you can upload your file to Dropbox and click “Create a link” for the file. Paste that link into the entry form.
If you worked with a traditional publisher, ask them for a compressed file.
If you want to compress the book/file yourself, go to the website for your operating system and search for how to compress a file. Each OS will be slightly different.

If you are logged in as an active member, the member entry fees will automatically appear on the entry form.

It's important that you log in using the email address associated with your active membership.
